Food part 2

The food here makes us giggle.  Not that it is bad...  it is just different.

Mayonnaise in a bag

? I don't know, and I don't really want to know.

Pepper in an envelope.  All of their seasonings are in envelopes, not bottles

Ketchup in a bag

Moving sea critters

Dried smashed sea critters in a bulk bin

Can you see the shark tail???  The lobsters were still moving.

And another shark.  You can figure out the prices, 1 dollar equals 36 rubles.  So, divide everything by 36 and that is how many dollars it will cost.  It is a little deceiving when you are buying by weight because they weigh everything by kilos.  There are 2.2 pounds per kilo.

Ice cream in a bag

Milk in a bag

Fish flavored chips

Sausage flavored chips

Meat jello flavored chips

These are dried fish in a package in the snack/chips isle...

I wanted Seth to stand next to these so you could see how big they are but, he would not...  They came to about my knee.  That is a mere $27.  Hope you are thirsty or have lots of friends.

These are individual coffee packets at the check out.  You know, grab a candy bar and a bag of coffee.

Best ice cream EVER!!!  It is pralines, covered in white chocolate.  I nearly died while I was eating it!

I find many things about the eggs here interesting.  First off is they are rarely refrigerated.  There goes my eating cookie dough.  Secondly, they take the time to stamp each and every single egg but do not wash the feathers and crap off.  What??  Barf!  Also, the yolks are very deep orange.  Non of that yellow yolk stuff, even when we buy white eggs.

Books

One of the things that is fun for us is to see things in Russia that we have in America.  Books and restaurants are among our favorites.  It is fun to see if they are a direct translation of the American word or if it is translated into Russian.

translated, Percy Jackson

American title.  It is a name so, I'll give them that one.

Oceanarium

We had a Saturday where Ethan and Dalton went to a Young Men's activity and so, Chris, Seth and I went to the Oceanarium.  I have to say, it was pretty dang cool!

Waiting for our 7D movie.  It was interesting if nothing else.

You can't tell but the turtle was huge.  Probably 3 feet long.

At the end of our excursion, the boys needed a chair massage.

Ethan turns 15

This was the only wrapping paper we had.  I realized after wrapping the first one that I could use the wrapping paper inside out.

Hatchapouri is the best food ever invented!  It is Georgian.  It is a steaming hot boat of bread with cheese (muenster type) and a raw egg.  Using your fork, you stir the egg, cheese, and chunks of bread all together and the heat from the break cooks the egg.

When you have a birthday in Russia, you get 4 cakes!

The Moscow Zoo

The zoo was so much fun!  There were lots of babies and the animals were all out and active.  I have never in my life seen so many animals out and about.

In case you were tempted...

This baby kept trying to take his daddy's blanket.

It was feeding time for the sloth!

Hedwig

We may have been the most entertaining group of animals at the zoo!
