Traveling

Seth and I had the opportunity to go to DC this past week.  On our trip, we experienced a few little hiccups, as is bound to happen when you travel.  Let me begin with the week before we left...

Chris and Dalton went to St. Petersburg for 4 days.  Chris went for work and Dalton went for some quiet and relaxation.  He went around the city with the camera while Chris was at work and then they went sight seeing when Chris got off.  They were having a grand 'ol time until the last day when Chris was pick-pocketed.  By the time he realized his wallet was gone and he called me to cancel our cards, they had already gotten nearly $2000 in purchases.  Luckily it didn't have his passport or their train tickets so they were still able to get back to Moscow.  This last week some lady called him and said she had found his wallet in a restaurant.  She took it to the American Consulate and someone from Moscow will be bringing it back down to him today.  Of course, all of the cash is gone and who knows what else.  This happened 2 days before I was to leave for DC, this posed a problem since all of our cards were on hold.  We were able to get the State Department Credit Union to unhold my card since the numbers on the front are different.

Now back to our trip to DC...

When we got to the airport in Moscow, they said that the embassy hadn't paid for our tickets so we wouldn't be able to get on the plane.  Chris called the people at the embassy and they frantically ran to get it paid so we could get on the plane.  We were barely able to make our flight to NY.  Once we hit NY we got on our plane to DC and after an hour of waiting on the plane, they canceled it.  At this time of night, there were no more flights going to DC.  They put us in a hotel, but without our luggage. We were able to get on a 6:00 am flight the next day.  Jet lagged and dirty, we got to DC, went straight from the airport to our doctor's appointment.  Hahaha.  I'm sure we were a sight!  Since our flight was messed up, our luggage got messed up and we didn't get it until late that night.  Our week was spend going to doctor after doctor for the both of us.  It was definitely a trip with a purpose.  We were suppose to fly out on Saturday (15th).  We got on our flight from DC to NY and started to taxi down the runway when a radar in the air traffic control center broke.  ALL flights were grounded.  They turned us around and we sat in the airport for 4 hours.  They got it up and working and got us to NY.  But, we missed our flight to Moscow.  There was another flight 4 hours later but it was full so, they routed us through Paris and then on to Moscow.  We thought it would be awesome to fly into Paris but, we walked off our flight and directly onto the next flight.  I took a picture of Seth on the plane to document that we actually were in Paris.  Hahaha.  So...  since our flight was messed up, our luggage did not get on our plane.  We got into Moscow Sunday afternoon, by the time I filled out all the paperwork for my lost luggage and got past security and saw Chris standing there, I just started to cry.  It was so good to see him and know that I had someone to help me with all of the craziness now. We got got our luggage on Tuesday night
